“The real Goncharov was the fandom we made along the way”: Goncharov (1973) as information creation

What is it about?

Goncharov (1973), a (fake) Scorsese film, was created collectively by fans on Tumblr. We show that in encountering Goncharov-related information and creations, fans were motivated through a sense of excitement, play and community to join the phenomenon and create their own works, adding to the 'canon' of the film.
