Why is it important?

Overload emerges not because of a single factor, but is caused by a mix of several factors. The paper underlines that to set off these, we can opt for technological approaches by using the capabilities of information architecture that explores ways to organize and create semantic and contextual informational relationships that accommodate user goals and behaviour. The repertoire of social approaches is much broader, because it includes practicing information literacy, engaging in data literacy, behaving in accordance with slow principles and applying Personal Information Management tools.

Perspectives

Information overload is caused not only by Too Much Information and makes your private and professional life difficult, not speaking about its impact on business organisations. Looking for solutions is a truly interdisciplinary and highly intriguing enterprise, but being critical against information is a leading tool in combating it.
