Why is it important?

We move beyond the simplistic assumptions of current approaches to understanding HRM in Chinese contexts by moving beyond Chinese = Confucian, to a more nuanced understanding.

Perspectives

After 25 years travelling, researching and teaching about HRM in China, I appreciated the opportunity to express a view, at least briefly, of an approach to understanding of Chinese HRM that doesn't begin and end with Confucius. Like our world in general it is a reality that is much more complex, requiring an analysis that is correspondingly more nuanced.
