Gains and hurdles for China to join the comprehensive and progressive agreement for Trans-Pacific partnership

What is it about?

Though China has done a comprehensive report on its accession to CPTPP, however, a comprehensive, detailed policy analysis must be done so that China can work on the CPTPP clauses directly related to its strategic and national security sectors. CPTPP may facilitate China to lead the global governance on the economic liberal order in the coming years, but China needs to implement further reforms to meet the high standards of CPTPP without reducing its priority for national security.
