What is it about?

For some couples, the divorce process can be very lengthy.. In this study, we examine how a husband and wife perceive themselves and each other during a protracted and conflictual divorce process.

Why is it important?

Our findings reveal that although both spouses try to understand their own contributions to the situation, they continue to perceive each other through a lens distorted by defense mechanisms.

Perspectives

It was very interesting to try narrative positioning analysis and gain new insights that help understand what internal mechanisms prevent people from reaching agreement.
