What is it about?

The use of virtual reality in education is becoming increasingly important. It is crucial that future teachers are trained in the use of these emerging technologies, which have the potential to enhance teaching and learning processes. This article presents the findings of a study conducted with 135 third-year students enrolled in the Degree in Early Childhood Education during the 2022/2023 academic year. The students were taking the subject Didactics of Social Sciences. They participated in an activity in which they used virtual reality as an educational tool to experience a visit to a virtual museum. During the visit, they were able to explore the rooms of the museum, interact with the pieces of the exhibition, which were the recovered fragments of the three main characters of the sculptural ensemble known as ‘Aeneas Group', and tour the site where it was originally located.
