What is it about?

A research paper about how distributed social computing, and the Internet of Things, go beyond the "user-generated content" Web of Web 2.0, and how poststructuralist philosophy helps theorise this new decentered Web. Also includes editorial introductions to the other papers in this Special Issue.

Why is it important?

There have been many theoretical attempts to understand the Web, but the ubiquity and pervasiveness of connectivity requires new theoretical approaches that overturn old understandings in as radical a way as the new technologies supplant the old. This is one of the first papers to address this need.

Perspectives

This is my second major paper on philosophy of information systems, complementing my work on inclusiveness.
