Impact of copper access regulation on the FTTH deployment

What is it about?

Copper access regulation impacts fiber roll out. Indeed each technologies (fiber, copper and cable) is in competition with the others. As a resut, a regulatory decision that benefits one technology disavantage the others. Reducing the price of copper broadband access slows down the rollout of fiber infrastructure.

Why is it important?

Sectoral regulatory authorities have to take this into account to set the unbundling price.
