What is it about?

NILDE (Network for Inter-Library Document Exchange) is a web-based ILL software for libraries and endusers. It allows libraries to manage the entire workflow of ILL activities, both borrowing and lending, supporting secure electronic delivery of documents. It enables end users to interact directly with NILDE, to manage their bibliographic references and to load automatically bibliographic records into the NILDE request form. Assessment of the NILDE service over the last few years is based on a comparison between the quantitative data gathered from the NILDE database and the qualitative data collected through the user surveys.

Why is it important?

Results from user surveys show the importance of library staff training and users requests for electronic document availability and the use of NILDE from mobile devices. The results turned out to be particularly interesting and a source of hints for planning future improvements.
