What is it about?

The MFRI is an on-line questionnaire which generates an aggregate report for workplace teams. The MFRI requires approximately 8 minutes to complete and all responses are anonymous and confidential. This paper uses confirmatory factor analysis to demonstrate that 8 groups of 4 items do indeed measure three mental fitness needs (relatedness, competency, autonomy) and five team resiliency assets (relationship, professionalism, attitudinal, emotional intelligence and adaptation) as intended. The internal consistency of each scale is very high as reported using Cronbach's coefficient alpha.

Why is it important?

The importance of workplace well-being is known to impact many organisational aspects such as employee engagement, job satisfaction, absenteeism, presenteeism, staff turnover, health care costs, and more. This paper presents an on-line questionnaire whose aggregate report highlights team strengths which can be built upon so that organisations can focus on improving their workplace environment and culture thus leading to improved outcomes.

Perspectives

MFRI reports are used to identify strengths related to mental fitness needs and resiliency assets which allow teams and their members to increase their well-being, engagement and performance. The authors have developed targeted resources which allow organisations to follow-up on their MFRI reports and improve their workplace environment and culture.
