What is it about?
The analysis of migration related policies in reaction to the pandemic point to the fact that the State not only remained a relevant actor in guiding migration flows, but also a strong ally to commercial entities in times of crisis and, by extension, a strong contributor to labour market segmentation. The pandemic acted in this sense as a magnifying glass, with migration related state policies focused on two main areas: the employment of migrant workers and their access to healthcare.
