Assessing sustainable development goals research output in Iraqi universities

What is it about?

This research examines scientific publications by Iraqi universities related to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from 2018 to 2023. We looked at how much research is being conducted on each SDG, with a focus on education (SDG 4). Our study developed a new way to measure how much research each country should be conducting to meet the global average for specific SDGs. The findings show that Iraqi universities need to publish more research on all the SDGs, especially education. This information can help leaders in Iraqi higher education make plans for future research that supports achieving the SDGs.
