What is it about?
More and more people want to know how they can help fight climate change, but it’s not always easy to see where to start. In this study, we tested a new board game called Global Warning to find out if it could help post-secondary students learn about climate issues and feel motivated to take action. The game blends fun competition with cooperation, challenging players to solve climate problems before time runs out. We found that students who played Global Warning left with a stronger sense of urgency and more ideas for reducing their impact on the planet. These results suggest that games, especially when designed around real-world problems, can be a powerful way to engage students and spark meaningful conversations about sustainability.
