What is it about?

Quality Function Deployment (QFD), is a tool used in the development of products and services and integrates information such as customer requirements, competitor performance, and required technical characteristics in a set of matrices collectively referred to as the "House of Quality". The methodology has been widely used by quality and operations management practitioners and academics since its introduction by Professor Yoji Akao in 1966. This research focuses on developing mathematical and statistically-based heuristics to improve the extraction of information from the HOQ matrices.
