What is it about?

The study is built on voluntary presenteeism and views voluntary presenteeism from the lens of employee engagement. It refers to employees working when sick primarily because they are engaged. In today’s technology-enabled environment, working from home is a welcome option to continue to work from home when sick taking intermittent rest. This viewpoint is proposed as the third approach to looking at presenteeism. The first two approaches view presenteeism as either arising from job insecurity (from downsizing) or productivity loss due to not functioning optimally when sick.
