What is it about?

How can supply chain resilience be increased: Does it help if supply chain members communicate with each other, interact cooperatively, or integrate their processes and systems? It turns out that communication between suppliers and buyers is particularly important to make the supply chain resilient. In part, cooperative behavior can increase resilience, too. Surprisingly, integration of processes and systems does not turn out the have any effect on the resilience of a supply chain.

Why is it important?

Resilience consists of two dimensions: robustness and agility. Robustness can be seen as the proactive dimensions of resilience and agility can be seen as the reactive dimension of resilience. Implementing both robustness and agility can have a positive influence on the performance of a supply chain.
