What is it about?
This study looks at how Islamic epistemology and ethics advances sustainable development in Islamic management, economics, and finance (IMEF). It also explores how modern ethical ideas fit with Islamic ethics on sustainability. Using the PRISMA method, researchers looked at 62 articles from 2015 to 2023 to answer four questions. They picked articles from databases like Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar, making sure they were good quality and relevant. They found four main things. Firstly, Islamic beliefs help steer practices towards sustainable development, following the SDGs. Secondly, Islamic ideas promote sustainability through things like ethical behaviour and Islamic banking. Thirdly, modern ethical theories help apply Islamic ethics to sustainable development. Lastly, the connection between Islamic beliefs and sustainability comes from promoting ethical behaviour and overall ecosystem health. This study is useful for researchers, policymakers, and people working in IMEF, showing the importance of Islamic ethics in sustainability efforts. It also connects Islamic beliefs with practical sustainability in IMEF.
