What is it about?

In order to reduce the subjectivity in performance appraisal of qualitative jobs, e.g, HR related jobs which are difficult to quantify, performance-linked competency model has been introduced. In the model, required competencies are identified from the jobs and then matched with the competencies of job holders which are assessed by using Data Envelopment Analysis -- an efficiency based tool.

Perspectives

Subjectivity in performance assessment often leads to dissatisfaction. There has been always dearth of having scientific performance assessment tool in industry specially for non-quantifiable jobs. The proposed model may be very helpful tool in this regard.
