Why is it important?

Providing primary care to refugees for the first several years after their arrival to Canada can be complex. Specialized refugee clinics fill this need but have limited funding. Thus, transitioning refugees from the specialized refugee clinic to the regular health system is important yet how to do this well has not been well-documented. Using qualitative methods, this study looked at refugees' experiences that were associated with successful acquisition of a family doctor.
