Why is it important?
We strongly believe the contribution of this study is important because this paper provides important insights on the Barriers as a determinant of ongoing or abandonment activities. The results provide empirical evidence that companies abandon their projects particularly for two reasons: Lack of funds within your enterprise or group and innovation costs too high. As the factors causing companies retaining their ongoing activities are innovation costs too high, the uncertain demand for innovative goods or services, difficulties in finding cooperation partners for innovation, lack of qualified personnel, a lack of information on markets and the lack of funds within your enterprise or group. Because there are no known earlier works examining the object of study presented in this research, especially in the Portuguese market, also because of the importance and weight of SMEs in the Portuguese economy, this material as an important impact in the analyses of Barriers.
Perspectives
We belive this paper shows the importance of the SME's facing the barriers that they have during there lifetime. Also, We hope tht with this, some SME's have the kwnoledge to identify barries, in special in markets like Portugal or similar markets, allowing them to exceed and raising solutions to vercome them.
