Why is it important?

This paper analyses why it is socially important to develop intervention programs in prison settings that adequately address inmates' physical and emotional health. Besides describing the program itself, both its planning and implementation, it reflects on the challenges and complexities of developing interventions in prisons.

Perspectives

Bringing intervention practices to the scientific arena, allowing for a discussion between peers is rare and is one of the innovative features of this manuscript. Sharing intervention practices with the scientific community is an essential step to develop the best practices in each filed of action.
