What is it about?
Working from home is changing where people want to live—and what homes cost. Using data from 30 countries (2006–2023), we find that places with more remote work and better internet tend to have higher urban house prices and lower public-transport use. This matters for affordability and city planning: appraisals, housing supply, and transit funding should account for telework trends and broadband policy.
