What is it about?
This study examines how the manufacturing industry, which uses a lot of energy, is adopting Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to monitor and manage energy use more effectively, in light of economic, ecological, and political challenges. It explores the factors that encourage the use of IoT for energy monitoring in manufacturing, such as cost reduction, regulatory demands, and customer expectations. The research also looks into how these systems impact energy consumption and identifies the conditions that lead to successful implementation. By conducting interviews with providers of IoT energy monitoring systems in Germany and analyzing relevant documents, this study offers insights and practical advice on maximizing energy savings. Additionally, it integrates energy management and IoT research, providing a comprehensive view of how IoT can enhance energy efficiency in an organizational setting. This research is significant as it provides new information specifically relevant to Germany's large industrial sector.
