We propose an approach to evaluate the security of supply in a Brazilian coal-fired electricity generation supply chain through a novel multidimensional synthetic index. Public regulatory policies on coal-fired electricity generation determine coal prices, thereby impacting the security of supply and sustainability of coal suppliers over time.
