What is it about?
This study looked at how leaders' expressions of anger affect employee behavior and performance in the hospitality industry. Surprisingly, it found that both controlled anger (calm and deliberate) and outward anger (more openly expressed) can lead employees to reshape their tasks and improve how they perform at work (a process known as job crafting). However, these effects depend on how employees interpret the anger and the type of leadership style their manager has. The findings suggest that, when used appropriately, even negative emotions like anger can motivate positive change and boost productivity in high-pressure service environments.
