Why is it important?
It is hard to believe that one week is enough time for learning. This paper has evidence that challenge based learning is a new pedagogical method that may have positive impact on students. It also describe how is possible to engage thousands of students on authentic activities at the same time, coordinating hundreds of faculty members and staff.
Perspectives
I have been leader for three years for Semana i (i-Week) institutional research. I have also coordinated parts of the process during the first implementation. The results are consistent through time. I am convinced that: Self-directed learning, intellectual curiosity, problem, solving, critical thinking, teamwork and innovation are important skills that the future graduates require not only for employment, bur also for life.
