What is it about?

For the last 19 years Schumacher College has been teaching an MSc in Holistic Science. In this paper, Philip Franses and Mike Wride give overview of Goethean Science methods. They compare this with other related approaches to participatory learning. They describe the method and interview students to get to know their experiences. The paper is relevant to all those seeking foundation to experiential learning.

Why is it important?

There is growing unease about an educational process, which communicates everything as already established knowledge. Society is imbalanced with the perspective of rational solutions to all challenges. Goethe gives us a way to include the experiential alongside the conceptual.
