Perspectives

Setting group or team assessments is enticing from an academic's workload perspective but as an educator it is important to me that assessments are not only practical from an administrative perspective but also promote learning and enhance students' experience. This study was driven by the introduction of a new assessment task in a capstone accounting degree unit that I was responsible for and I was seeking confirmation that the assessment was developing my students' abilities, not only in terms of the course content but also in terms of their professional skills. I hope this study will assist other educators in designing workable and meaningful assessments in a a era of time-poor academia.
