What is it about?

Perceived- organizational and supervisor support (POS and PSS) are crucial in winning employee attitudes and behaviours such as commitment, engagement, retention and performance. Whereas research supervision has been mainly examined from a pedagogical perspective, we show that it is a key performance area for research supervisors as employees of research institutions. Consequently, their perceived support or lack of, obligates them to reciprocate through social exchange, by way of commitment, engagement and performance towards work objectives including research supervision.
