What is it about?

This exploratory research evaluated employee turnover in Nigerian small and medium-sized enterprises with particular biases towards manufacturing and service businesses adjudged as critical to the growth, development and sustainability of the nation's economy. Specific attention was paid to employee turnover extent, nature, causes and effects on all stakeholders connected to the businesses, and the businesses themselves.

Why is it important?

Having observed that extant global E-Turnover literature is strongly biased towards large and complex organisations in the developed nations to the detriment of businesses in developing nations like Nigeria, the research explored the turnover phenomenon in Nigerian SMEs. The study contributed to existing global knowledge on E-Turnover by presenting verifiable and relevant empirical data plus information on Nigerian'SMEs capable of deepening our knowledge of the phenomenon.

Perspectives

By reading and digesting this rich article vis-a-vis those from other countries, the significance of evaluating the turnover phenomenon from both global and contextual perspectives becomes apparent. Simply put, context matters in E-Turnover research given the uniqueness of nations and continents of the world.
