What is it about?

Talent is usually considered in terms of individuals; we consider the process of dependent relations that go on in work, where people rely on each other. We call this talenting.

Why is it important?

We show how attention can shift from talent management that focuses on individuals to finding the way that talenting occurs in work practice. We provide a case example of how this can be done.

Perspectives

I do like to move form what happens in theory to what happens in practice. Too much of the talent management theory and practice assumes it is individuals, usually in an elitist way, that provide value at work. This approach can also alienate others who are not seen as talented.
