What is it about?
This study explores how transformational leadership (TL) helps organizations create and retain knowledge by fostering trust-based relationships and structured learning environments. Using survey data from 288 U.S. white-collar employees, the study shows that leaders who encourage collaboration and trust help employees share knowledge more effectively. However, trust alone is not enough—structured learning mechanisms are essential to ensure knowledge is retained within the organization. The findings suggest that leaders should balance informal trust-building with formal knowledge-sharing systems like mentorship programs and digital collaboration platforms. This research provides practical insights for organizations looking to enhance innovation and adaptability.
