What is it about?
Shared understanding of how emergency service providers and Deaf (DHH) community members perceive emergency services can help reduce gaps in inclusive emergency services for DHH. Perceptions of emergency service workers may be impacted by how they interpret the "Whole Community Approach."

Why is it important?
Few studies compare the perceptions of emergency service providers and Deaf (DHH) community members.
Perspectives
The biggest difference were how DHH participants focused quite a bit on confusion, fear, and stigma, while emergency workers often framed their responses as part of a need to serve all people in the community.
