What is it about?
Digitalization and automation are massively transforming the construction industry, and the value of the data generated by BIM and the adoption of new technologies is growing significantly. Although there is no doubt that this has tremendous benefits, it is also true that this makes the construction industry more attractive for cyberattacks. Based on current literature in construction engineering and management, it seems that the issue of construction cybersecurity is at a very nascent stage, and a widely accepted vulnerability assessment to address cybersecurity is mostly unavailable. This study provides an impetus towards research in this direction and proposes a methodology to assess the cybersecurity vulnerability of construction networks. We believe that the proposed method could provide valuable information to assist project participants in determining the overall cybersecurity vulnerability of construction and assisting during the vulnerability-management processes.
