What is it about?

The learning outcomes in higher education are supposed to promote, theoretically speaking, a student centered setting; however, a multiple case study proved that faculty members are misinterpreting what the learning outcomes are.

Why is it important?

This study is important for higher education institutions because it sheds light on the teaching difficulties, their origins, and their relationship to the misused learning outcomes. As such, the findings and recommendations provide insight and practical solutions that can improve the higher education outcomes in answer to quality assurance criteria.

Perspectives

From my perspective, this research article exposes its audience to the fact that the higher education institutions that participated in the case study are not investing money or effort to support their faculty members who are not professional, teaching wise. Mainly, this is due to the lack of continuous development when it comes to motivating faculty members while helping them to ameliorate their teaching methods, their understanding of learning outcomes, and consequently their careers.
