What is it about?

Finding the root causes of disaster is one of the most important tasks of disaster research. The purpose of this research is to use the FORIN approach to identify the root causes that greatly exacerbated the loss of human life in the city of Rikuzentakata.

Why is it important?

Using FORIN approach, we detected the root causes of the disaster, why so many people died. This provides us important lessons to learn and also the approach gives us a lot of suggestions on how to investigate disasters.
