What is it about?
While we know crafts are important, we don't fully understand their role in women's recovery. So, this research examines why Turkmen women's craft skills are declining and how these skills helped them after the 2019 floods. The study found that while modern changes after the disaster helped in some ways, they also made traditional crafts less valued. Challenges like more chores, fewer materials, and lower demand hurt traditional crafts. Still, women with craft skills played a vital role in fixing things and making dowries, showing how important these skills are for women's recovery after disasters.
