What is it about?

Why is it important?

The dominance of keyword searching + faceting is easy to see in the field of discoverability at present. What is needed is an articulated concept of digital collections that builds traditional archival collection browsing into a modern information environment. This paper builds on the existing literature with a rationale for a more fruitful researcher experience with these collections.

Perspectives

The article is important because the presentation of digital special collections is under-discussed, compared with its impact in helping researchers find appropriate materials.
