What is it about?

Thought leadership is sometimes seen as highbrow or academic, when actually it just means having the courage to share innovative insights with the world and being recognised for those insights. REAL thought leadership is not random or accidental. There are steps any leader can take to position himself or herself as a thought leader in a crowded marketplace.

Why is it important?

Every field is crowded with competitors. Every product, solution, company and even business professional can become commoditised, making it hard to stand out or be unique. Business leaders today need tangible and practical ways of reaching ideal contacts with exciting and disruptive content; otherwise, they will just blend in with all the other 'experts' in their field.

Perspectives

Ever since I launched 24 Carat Bold in 2009 with an endorsement from Seth Godin, I've been asked to write, comment and speak about REAL thought leadership and how to achieve it. The term has become even more widely used (and abused) over the past 8 years, so I'm very happy to be going back to basics with this article which expresses my current philosophy and methodology perfectly.
