What is it about?
Migrants and ethnic minorities experience disparities in manifold domains in European societies such as in housing, employment and education. In this exploratory study we analyse what the profile of part of this population - non-nationals - looks like in the specific drug treatment domain. We found that in Belgium, treatment episodes with non-nationals more often occur in low-threshold outpatient treatment settings and less often in high-threshold residential settings. Additionally, these clients, especially non-nationals from outside Europe have low socio-economic statuses and are less often referred by general practitioners.
