What is it about?
This work gives a tool for the design and validation of the developing field of millimeter-wave applications, e.g., automotive RADAR problems or new generation mobile communication systems (5G). Modeling of electrically large objects (e.g., the human body exposed to millimeter long waves), is intractable by means of fine models, hence approximate methods are used. Amongst the available algorithms for describing the electromagnetic scattering of a layered sphere, this work introduces methods for increasing the precision and stability of the calculation.
