Supply chain cost research: a bibliometric mapping perspective

What is it about?

Supply chain cost research was evaluated by examining the methods, areas of interest, and level of research. contributions, main theories, and tools/software. A critical synthesis of the resulting data revealed interesting knowledge about the research in this field, and finds three key areas, namely “supply chain”, “optimization”, and “transportation”, which are concepts focused on the total supply chain and in need of more research.The paper identifies and proposes research areas to contribute to the literature when challenges to investigating logistics costs are discussed.
