What is it about?

The health and development of schoolchildren are influenced by the school food environment. Many efforts were conducted to improve the food safety behaviour amongst food handlers in school canteen. A successful intervention must be based on firm theories and a consideration of all relevant variables.

Why is it important?

Food safety is a crucial public health priority all over the world. The school-age group is always more affected than the general population. To date, many initiatives have been taken to prevent foodborne diseases. However, it appears to be less effective when correlated with reported food outbreaks over the same period.

Perspectives

This study provides a new insight on the best framework to design and implement food safety intervention.
