Why is it important?

This study provides a comprehensive theory-based analysis of perceived determinants of organization-wide adoption of HACCP-based system in Armenia. The results of the study support and extend the findings of earlier research and provide new insights into HACCP FSMS adoption across different contexts.

Perspectives

The implementation of HACCP-based system is an international strategy and has been widely studied in developed and developing countries. Yet it is worth to note that to the best of our knowledge no previous studies have been conducted to examine the adoption experiences in Armenia or in other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) that are part of these international adoption strategies. Furthermore, the research framework used in this study is a novel approach for the investigation of this phenomenon. The findings of our study will be useful to policy-makers of the countries with similar contexts as well as to the scholars who study the application of HACCP-based system.
