What is it about?
Social, economic, and environmental resources are consumed in the provision of housing. The government’s effort at meeting the housing deficit is not considering the impact on the physical environment with attendant social and economic challenges. Therefore, there is a need to adopt green building principles for housing development in Nigeria. The low level of awareness has been a challenge to the adoption of green building principles. The level of awareness of the requirements has implications on the quality of housing in Nigeria. This paper assessed the gap in the awareness of LEED requirements for green building development among the professionals and determined the significant variation among the built environment professionals.
