What is it about?
We examine the influence of economic, educational, and experiential factors on participation in cultural activities in Chile. Utilizing data from a national survey and employing advanced machine learning techniques, our analysis reveals that time allocated to work and study impacts cultural consumption in distinct ways, depending on gender, age, and educational attainment. Furthermore, early exposure to cultural activities during childhood demonstrates a significantly positive effect on individuals with lower levels of education, underscoring the critical importance of fostering access to cultural opportunities from an early age.
