Evaluating workforce needs for higher specialist training for psychiatry of intellectual disability in Kent, Surrey and Sussex: a workforce scoping service evaluation

What is it about?

It is important to have good quality people working in Intellectual Disability Psychiatry. Finding those people is hard. In our area of Kent Surrey and Sussex this was particularly hard as we did not have a training rotation. In order to discover why psychiatrists choose ID psychiatry and to encourage the development of a training scheme we explored why people choose this area and came up with recommendations how to encourage psychiatrists into this field.
