Reflection on future directions: a systematic review of reported limitations and solutions in interactive information retrieval user studies

What is it about?

This work may be the first study that systematically reviews the reported limitations and solutions of IIR studies and empirically examines their connections to different study components. The results from our review can facilitate deeper reflections on IR research methodology design and reporting, and serve as a checklist for evaluating customized IIR user studies in varying problem spaces and preparing standardized and republication studies.
