This research is all about proposing ways for improving accountability mechanisms for enhanced accountability outcomes. The paper focuses on how horizontal accountability mechanisms (e.g. Anti-corruption agencies) and social accountability mechanisms (e.g. civil society, media and the wider public) can have a more sufficient and improved interactions since they have a common interest of holding power to account

Why is it important?

This research is very critical in current times especially as development organisation s and policy makers are seeking ways and means to make government more accountable in the bid to fight corruption. corruption as we know has a dire cost and so research efforts geared towards fighting corruption cannot be overemphasized.

Perspectives

This is a significant contribution to the accountability scholarship and also to governments especially in developing countries seeking policy directions of strengthening public sector accountability.
