What is it about?
This is about global citizenship education in the curriculum guidelines of Hong Kong secondary schools. It is found that GCE has built upon its emphasis on rights and responsibilities in those 1990s guidelines, to that of asking students to understand the inequality in the world.

Why is it important?
Our findings suggest that in teaching global citizenship education to secondary school students, the emphasis should not be just rights and responsibilities as a global citizen, but should take action to understand and even challenge the inequality in the world, so that young people know where they stand in the world.
